Our owner's journey began with a transformative trip to Japan, where he fell in love with not just the incredible food, but the entire culture - the attention to detail, the respect for ingredients, and the warm hospitality that makes every meal an experience.

The name "Gaijin" (外人) means "foreigner" in Japanese, and we embrace this identity. We are foreigners sharing our love for Japanese cuisine with our community in Hazel Park, Michigan. We believe that food is a universal language that brings people together, regardless of where they come from.

Late Night Dining & Karaoke

We understand that great food shouldn't be limited by time. That's why we stay open late - until 1 AM most nights - because we believe the best conversations and connections often happen over a late dinner.

Every Saturday night, we transform into a karaoke destination where our guests can sing their hearts out while enjoying delicious Japanese cuisine. It's our way of bringing the fun, social aspect of Japanese culture to Hazel Park.
